Every year, we, the people/fans of celebrity entertainment, are bombarded with big screen productions of the next ‘it’ movie for our viewing pleasure, or, in some instances, what becomes our displeasure, leaving us contemplating the sizable monetary hole in our budgeting pockets at this latest perceived blockbuster expense and wondering, “What the hell was that about?”
Just as the general public is questioning these instant DVD arrivals, some genius out in Hollywood land comes up with The Raspberry Awards, in essence, to gift the worst picture, actor, actress, and so on, of the year…Remember Halley Berry and Cat Woman? So deserving of that darn golden statue, was she not? and was she not such a trooper to have the nerve to show up to accept the little stinker?
I promised you 3 more stinker movies, along with the actors, I feel need to take their place alongside Ms. Berry for their Razzie…Drum Roll, please…Bewitched, starring, the lovely Aussie, Nicole Kidman and Will Farrell. Neither of which was remotely convincing in their parts. Nicole could barely twitch. Did not even come close to the original star power of that famous twinkle done so brilliantly by Elizabeth Montgomery. Will Farrell left me emotionless; the man had no character substance. Who was that guy?
Since the movie’s release in 2006, It has gotten its share of raspberry posts…I had to contribute.
Little Man. What idiotic concept! The movie was the brainchild of the most innovative, creative, ground breaking families of color in television! How did they contemplate the works of such garbage? First of all, the premise was oddly insulting , all too predictable and totally a wash. I would only recommend this movie to my worst movie critic foe.
Then, comes Wild Hogs. Whose watching this star studded debacle? I am sure, the initial draw to this number 1 DVD rental was the array of star power, inclusive of John Travolta, a heart breaker since back in the days of Welcome Back Carter and The Boy In The Bubble, not to mention the trilogy of Quentin Tarentino films… Mister, he had my vote. As did Martin Lawrence, A Thin Line Between Love And Hate;
Martin’s the man! Tim Allen and William H. Macy rounds out the cast of four aging bikers who set out for one more fling with their bikes, leaving their wives, lives and cellphones behind! Unbelievable! The whole movie, unbelievable…There was one bright spot for this writer, however and that was Peter Fonda riding in on the back seat of his Harley(whatever…I am no biker chick)
These movies in my humble opinion were and are, truly worthy of the Raspberry Awards… I rest my case.

Jessica Simpson breast size : Small D cup : Jessica Simpson is another celebrity that has been puzzled over as to whether she has implants. Some “experts” say yes, and some say she’s natural. I just want to know how she lost all that weight and didn’t lose a bit of breast size. Hmmm…
Jessica Alba breast size : Small B cup : Although Jessica Alba is one of those celebs that has worn many a push up bras and I suspect has also worn gel inserts to change cup size so drastically between films, you can tell she has a natural breast size of about a small B cup. She also has very little body fat, which accounts for her perfectly natural smaller size.
While many of us may not be happy with the appearance of our breasts, it is good to know that they do come in all sizes and shapes, and we can actually improve their appearance – whether it be increasing their size, enhancing the shape and contour of the breast, or adding to the perkiness, firmness and perfect beauty of the female form, if we are not happy with our current breast size and appearance. One of the most popular young stars in Hollywood today is Miley Cyrus. She has an incredibly close relationship with her family and for that reason as well as her young age is with them a great deal. She has made many friends with co-stars of her show, stars of other Disney Channel shows, and also people associated with her live performances. Like any young star in Hollywood, she has had to deal with her share of scandals too, but none so bad that they have wrecked her squeaky clean image as Disney’s teen star of the moment.

I tried to tell you in the first of this series. If you are running around with all the signs of a hefty bank account, you are in fact, a yummy, Cuckoo Nest 102 jargon for a sitting duck waiting to be mined by a gold digger.Want a formula to see how good you are at spotting these diamond loving predators who devour yummies while they shop at Tiffany’s? Ok. Read on, male yummies, and see how clever you are. Put on your genuine Rolex, your diamond tiepin, and be sure you wear the snakeskin Gucci’s with a Givency suit. At the next cocktail party you go to, take a close look at the young beauties clustered around the bar waiting for an unsuspecting yummy. Saunter up, flash the Rolex, a smile, and then inch away. At least one will follow. Here’s the drill.
- Gaze into those beautiful eyes, recognize the following: admiration, respect, submission, and suddenly smitten.

You have to beware of the male gold diggers known as spuddies, (not buddies, but spuddies, hot potatoes that burn your fingers from Cuckoo Nest 102) who are not that different except they open doors for you and send you flowers.Rich or poor, divorce rates are not encouraging. In Britain, they have the highest divorce rate in Europe with more than 40% of marriages ending in divorce. Of course, it is the high profile divorces which catch our attention, with the huge divorce settlements, like the recent Sir Paul Mc Cartney and Heather Mills and the not so recent Donald and Ivana Trump (20 million). And surely these people of extreme wealth realize they are prey and try to protect themselves by using pre nuptial agreements, of which we have many, the Jackie Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis being one of the most publicized. Hollywood celebrities are particularly vulnerable. A study of 127 Golden Globe winners from the years 2000 and 2001 by Gregory Baer showed that 68% had been married more than once. The conclusion was that the odds against a celebrity marriage succeeding was about 2 to 1. And one final interesting statistic: The divorced man, our yummy, is more likely to suffer depression than the divorced woman, based on a study done by Michelle Rottermann: (Statistic Canada;Marital Breakdown and subsequent Depression). Just remember, man or woman you don’t want to a yummy.

When a new product in the grocery appears like candy bar or soda we frequently think of the harmful damage it can cause to the different organs in the body like the liver. To many people, the image of Hollywood, and of LA in general, is either a place that’s full of glitz and glamour, and positively swarming with celebrities – or as devoid of celebrities, with them hiding out in their mansions or at exclusive, elitist clubs where only celebrities themselves are allowed to go.
The reality is that neither of these extremes is correct. If you’re visiting LA, the chances are that you won’t see a celebrity. But equally, if you live in Hollywood, celebrity spotting is just another perk of living in glamorous surroundings.
Another nugget of truth that can be sifted out of the rumours of Hollywood is that there are specific places where celebrities go to do the things that everyday people enjoy – there are shops, restaurants, nightspots, even video stores that are favourites of the stars. But the fact is, everyone is welcome – not just celebrities!
Some of the stars’ favourite restaurants include seafood specialist Crustacean, where the key is to dress and act like a movie-star; Spago, famous chef Wolfgang Puck’s own restaurant, which many argue sets the standard for eating in Hollywood (which, when you consider some of the richest people in the world live here, is certainly saying something!); Patrick’s Roadhouse, a favourite spot for a celebrity breakfast (where now-governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger had a permanent table!); and of course The Ivy, favourite of Demi Moore and Kiefer Sutherland, which itself has made several movie appearances, notably in John Travolta and Danny DeVito’s ‘Get Shorty’ and 1992 smash-hit ‘The Bodyguard’.
The top nightspots where the stars choose to shine include music venues The Viper Room, which, although small and intimate, has seen stars of sizeable magnitude, including Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, The Counting Crows and Lenny Kravitz; The Roxy, which was once a second home to rockers Guns ‘n Roses; and The Troubadour, which has seen the likes of Elton John and Tom Waits performing. Favourite nightclubs include world-famous Whisky a Go Go (which itself has a impressive musical history), El Floradita and The Sky Bar.
And finally, if you feel you need to take something with you from the land of the stars, the shops that are best-loved by celebrities include Di Fabrizio Shoes, shoemaker to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Robert De Niro and Liza Minnelli; Book Soup, a book store that often has star-signings as well; Illume Candles, candle makers that keep the stars’ homes glowing; and every celebrities’ favourite fashion store, Fred Segal, which is mentioned in fashion-obsessed films like ‘Clueless’ and ‘Legally Blonde’, and has a reputation for trend-setting and essential fashion.
LA has two Fred Segal stores, one in Hollywood and one in nearby Santa Monica, an area that is popular with celebs because of its beautiful beaches and relaxed way of life. It is home to Patrick’s Roadhouse, and as well as being the home of some of the best eateries and fashion stores and hotels in LA, is also home to many major stars, such as Bob Dylan, Anjelica Huston, Christina Ricci and Tobey Maguire.
There are also a great deal of top-quality hotels in Santa Monica, so if you feel like living like an LA star, this is the place to be!

Anna Nicole Smith was famous for being herself. She led a self-created extravagant, loving-every-minute lifestyle. She was constantly in the tabloids pertaining to her mood swings, slurring speech, choices of male companions, and greater-than-life persona. Her sudden death, on February 8, 2007 (Anna Nicole Smith 2007), made the public wonder who this voluptuous woman truly was.
Anna Nicole Smith, born Vickie Lynn Hogan, never seemed to be happy in her environment as a child. She would continuously change her name (Anna Nicole Smith, 2007), trying to be someone else. She used this defense mechanism to flee the emotional inhibitors present in her childhood home. Anna’s half sister has reported that their father had sexually and physically abused Anna and her sisters (msnbc.com, 2007). Anna’s mother removed her from that environment and ended up poor in a trailer park. Anna seemed always to want better, and would do what she needed to achieve her goals.
As described in the Cognitive/ Social Theory (Kowalski & Westen, 2005), Anna felt that by creating a different persona, she would escape her reality and achieve these goals of her ultimate dream of stardom. She believed that by reflecting certain over-exuberant behaviors, she could achieve her pie-in-the-sky dreams. Most anyone who watches television would say that she strived to be the next Marilyn Monroe. This is called a behavioral-outcome expectancy (Kowalski & Westen, 2005). Self-efficacy expectancy explains that Anna knew that she was in control and capable of achieving these goals. She set high personal goals in order to change her life into a dream she had always hoped would come true.
The Humanistic Theory explains that personality is created by one’s environment and societal experiences. Rousseau clearly states (Kowalski & Westen, 2005), “man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains.” (pages 447-448). Anna was a compassionate, life-loving person, but felt held back by society and economics. She found employment in all work environments, from a chicken fry, to Wal-mart, to a strip club, in order to achieve her goals.
While working at the chicken fry, she wed a boy one year younger than she; he was sixteen at the time. They divorced shortly after; she also had a son by this man. Anna Nicole began stripping at a club, while mailing in body shots to Playboy Magazine (Anna Nicole Smith, 2007), trying to get into the Hollywood scene. She was aware of her true self, but was willing to delve into a false self in order to escape her binds (Kowalski & Westen, 2005). She wanted to be accepted and loved by all, literally. Anna met an oil tycoon while stripping, and married him years later. This marriage and relationship was extremely controversial because the gentleman was eighty-nine at the time, she was only twenty-seven. Many, including the man’s son, thought of Anna as a gold digger, but Anna stated that she was self- sufficient and truly loved this man (Goldman, 2001). Again, Anna was making a name for herself and placing herself into the tabloids. She was continuously creating an ideal self. The presence of an ideal self is the complete absorption of the false self, and the complete suppression of one’s true needs and personality (Kowalski & Westen, 2005).
Anna became a widow only one year later. Her husband’s son took Anna to court, preventing her from getting any money. She demanded that she loved him, and he loved her. He wanted her to be taken care of (Goldman, 2001). The case was still dancing in and out of the court system at the time of Anna’s death.
Anna’s death was sudden to everyone. However, she did suffer from depression continuously. She did not hide from the public the fact that she took antidepressants. She had been shown on television obviously mixing alcohol with antidepressants, slurring her speech and flailing her arms in the air (msnbc.com, 2007). Anna especially suffered from depression close to her demise. She had lost her first-born child, twenty years old, and given birth to a daughter, just months before. Anna had not stated who her daughter’s father was; this was discovered after Anna’s death (Anna Nicole’s Afterlife, 2007). Even though she wanted to paint the tabloids with her life, Anna seemed to want this part of her life kept secret. It seemed that she wanted different for her new family.
The Humanistic theory best supports Anna Nicole Smith’s personality. Her childhood was filled with unavoidable situations of her environment. Her adulthood was built on self-created drama and stardom. Anna buried her true self as a young child, renaming herself several times until finally settling on Anna Nicole Smith. For those who struggle with weight issues, there is new hope on the horizon and it’s taking the world by storm. It’s called hoodia gordonii and while it’s not a new, it is certainly creating quite a sensation. CNN, MSNBC, BBC, and CBS 60 Minutes all have been talking about it. Hoodia gordonii has even been talked about in Oprah’s magazine and all of Hollywood seems to be taking notice of it. What is this incredible new diet product? What is hoodia gordonii?
What is Hoodia Gordonii and Where Did it Come From?
What is Hoodia Gordonii? Hoodia gordonii is the botanical name for a certain type of cactus that grows in South Africa. The plant is not that common there, but for many years, it has served quite a useful purpose for natives to South Africa. Often, it was consumed by hunters who would need to be without food for a period of time.
It provided to them an emergency source of food in harsh environmental conditions, where often the environment itself doesn’t provide any other forms of food. The cactus contains an all-natural appetite represent, making the body believe that it is full when it’s really not. That it is the main reason it started to be used as a diet product. People now are becoming a bit more familiar with the name, but still, there are some who don’t know what is hoodia gordonii.
Many users of hoodia gordonii swear by it’s benefits. Compared to other forms of diet pills, it contains no stimulants, no addictives or fillers. The all-natural hoodia gordonii enables appetite control without nasty side effects on the body. It can be used alone as a diet aide, or combined with other supplements to enhance weight loss. Hoodia gordonii comes in both liquid and pill form. The cactus byproduct also contains fiber, antioxidants and calcium, all things to help keep the body healthy.
The only real downfall to the product is because it is so new and the cactus itself is fairly rare, prices for hoodia gordonii are relatively high and sometimes hard to get. However, studies online are reporting that the product helps increase weight loss in most cases by almost forty percent and fat loss by almost fifty percent. So, while it may be expensive, studies are showing it may be worth the price paid.
So what is hoodia gordonii? It’s a new diet supplement that will change the way people diet. You may not have heard of hoodia gordonii yet, but chances are, if you haven’t, you will be shortly. It’s quickly becoming the new way for people to lose weight. Hoodia gordonii for the first time in diet product history, provides consumers with a healthy weight loss supplement that actually benefits the body. It has no harmful chemicals or stimulants, increases energy and facilitates quicker weight loss. That is what all the hype is about.
Losing Weight with Hoodia gordonii
Quite possibly the hardest part about dieting is suppressing your appetite. Whenever your stomach’s rumbling, it’s not too easy to just ignore it and go about your business. However, some new products and ingredients over the years have been discovered, and together they form a group of medicines called anorectics. One such ingredient for many new anorectics comes from the species of plant called Hoodia gordonii. By suppressing your appetite, this plant works to help you lose weight more easily.
Effectiveness
Hoodia gordonii appears to be so effective at curbing your appetite that both the BBC and CBS aired specials on its anorectic properties in 2003. The Sans Bushmen have used its anorectic properties for literally thousands of years. Such celebrities as Anna Nicole Smith have championed its cause, and the company Phytopharm published a report that stated that humans that took medicine made from Hoodia gordonii consumed about 1000 calories less a day than users of a placebo.
Despite such public enthusiasm, no concrete scientific evidence exists yet to prove the effectiveness of Hoodia gordonii, the reason being that the ingredient has only been used in medicine for a few years while other medicines can be researched for decades before the medical field agrees on their effectiveness. Part of this particular drug’s anorectic capabilities may be a direct result of the rather vigorous media conditioning that it has received.
